Scarlet Macaw Scarlet Macaw is about 81 to 96 centimeters (32 to 36 inches) long. SCARLET MACAWS DIET

Wild Scarlet Macaws mostly eat fruits and seeds, which includes big hard seeds. Similar to other parrots, they are predators of seeds and destroy seeds they eat, and don’t disperse the seeds. Sometimes, macaws are observed eating clay off the banks of rivers.

SCARLET MACAWS BEHAVIOUR

The most common sighting is one Scarlet Macaw or a pair of Scarlet Macaws flying above the canopy of the forest, but in certain areas, a large number of birds are seen. They are able to fly at speeds of up to 35 miles an hour (56 kilometers per hour) and live a time of around 80 years.

SCARLET MACAWS REPRODUCTION

As with most parrots, the female Scarlet Macaw lays 2 to 4 eggs of white in an open cavity in a tree. The eggs hatch after between 24 and 25 days. They grow up to be one hundred and a half days after and depart from their parents about a year later.
