The properties of ozone use have been known for a long time, but it is only in the last few years that the fields of industry in which it is used have started to expand.

Water ozonation is one of the methods of purifying drinking water from microorganisms, i.e. water disinfection. During this process, the water is mixed with ozone in the injector mixers, becomes saturated and flows through the contact tank where the disinfection process takes place. The use of ozonation ensures microbiological purity and has no harmful effects on humans.

ADVANTAGES OF OZONATION

The use of ozone is intended to remove undesirable physico-chemical substances in the water. Ozonation is used in swimming pools to remove impurities and disinfect water, which minimizes the use of chlorine.

Ozonation, as an advanced oxidation process, is used in technological processes, because it supports filtration processes by agglomeration of particles, accelerates the oxidation of micro-pollutants and natural organic matter, restores the water’s natural color and crystal transparency, reduces the unpleasant taste and smell of water and, most importantly, ensures microbiological purity – it removes bacteria, viruses, cysts and fungi and molds.

When using UVAZONE, it has been proven effective in reducing the demand for free chlorine in swimming pool water, as well as in destroying microorganisms resistant to chlorine and reducing skin and eye irritation caused by the presence of chlorine compounds. Most of the pools we use are indoor pools, so we also inhale chloride, which further increases the dose we take.

The solution is to change the pool to one with ozonated water. Some people give up using the pool because of chlorine – they will feel much better in the case of ozonated water. The use of ozone allows you to reduce the dosage of chlorine – which is of great importance for pool users, especially people with sensitive skin.

ELEMENTS OF SPORTS POOL EQUIPMENT

People who love sports, regardless of their level of advancement, are beginning to be interested in the substantive part of their activity, which is why each water sports facility should be equipped with specific elements that will make it not only attractive, but also functional for its users.

In today’s article, you will learn, among other things, what the angle of inclination of the starting pole should be and which accessories will be suitable for the lane ropes.

STARTER POSTS AND ASSEMBLY PLATFORM

Each sports pool should be equipped with starting posts that will allow sports enthusiasts to jump into the water.

Our company patented and designed the starting posts especially for the 2003 World Swimming Championships in Barcelona. The posts have two innovations: they allow the player to manually adjust the angle of the post platform from among four available adjustment options: 0, 3, 6 or 10 degrees. The rules of the International Swimming Federation allow the angle of the platform to be selected between 0 and 10 degrees.

The posts also have adjustable side handles, thanks to which the player can move them freely horizontally and adjust them to his needs. They are made of polished stainless steel, and also allow the installation of the Omega electronic timing system. The platform measures 550 x 500 m, while the height of the post is 437 mm.

You can choose between slanted and straight starting posts, made of stainless steel, and equipped with an adjustable anti-skid platform made of polyester and fiberglass. Another useful element, created by our company, is a platform for mounting starter posts. The structure of the platform is made of stainless steel and covered with a plastic grille. We should also remember about the accessories for the starting posts, such as starting numbers and lane ropes.

TRACK ROPES AND NECESSARY ACCESSORIES

The indispensable equipment of recreational pools are lane ropes, which separate individual sectors of the pool, thus maintaining a safe space for their users. The lane ropes, like the starting posts, were patented and specially designed by AstralPool for the 2003 Barcelona Swimming World Championships. Thanks to the use of breakthrough technology, lane ropes ensure maximum wave absorption and smooth water surface. Biomechanical tests carried out by the Institute of Hydrodynamics in July 2003 showed that during the competition BCN03 lane ropes absorb 80% of the load. waves generated by a competitor within his own track without causing a bounce. The waves generated by a competitor on one track have the smallest possible effect on the transmission of water movements to adjacent sides.

The Easy Line track rope model has been specially designed for professional competitions as well as training – manufactured in accordance with FINA guidelines. The ropes are resistant to weather conditions and available in 5 different colors, such as: blue, red, white, green and yellow.

Another element of the equipment are floats – available with a turbine mechanism. The floats are plastic parts that are part of the lane rope. 

NECESSARY EQUIPMENT FOR SWIMMING POOLS

It is worth taking care of professional swimming pool equipment, such as a trolley for transporting and storing ropes – it is easy to use, aesthetic and made of stainless steel. Additionally, equipped with a PVC bag, it collects the water leaking from the rope floats, which improves the safety and cleanliness of the facility. The bag has a bottom drain to drain the accumulated water, and is mounted on four wheels, two of which are equipped with brakes. It holds as much as 50 m of track rope of each model. Another element that we propose is the lane rope drum – made of stainless steel, which enables the transport of the ropes. The under-floor lane rope storage system allows the ropes to be rolled up and stored in a special steel box, embedded under the pool floor. This solution saves a lot of space.

Other functional elements that should be in the pool also include: a lane rope holder, a lane rope socket with a transverse bar or a retractable catch (intended for plate or foil pools), a tensioner with a latch, a spring and a rope hook track.

OTHER NECESSARY ITEMS

False starter and reversing sets will also work in the sports pool, which will prove useful during swimming competitions.

The false start set consists of two cones, while the reversal set consists of four (cones). The turning panels made of stainless steel and the grating made of hard, white plastic, 300 mm high, will prove helpful in this case.
