Wuling EV Launches in Indonesia: What Should You Know?

Mobil Wuling Manufactory, a Chinese car manufacturer, announced in June this year that it would launch the Wuling EV, a small, all-electric light vehicle in Indonesia, which is also positioned as a K-Car but is larger than the MINI EV. As planned, the Wuling EV has recently been announced as having rolled off the production line in India on 8/8 and is expected to be officially launched on 8/11, following the first reveal of the new vehicle.

The Wuling EV shares the same single-box design as the Wuling Hongguang Mini, with a charging socket hole in the middle of the front end, LED daylight stripes running across the front and chrome trim extending to the rear mirrors on both sides, headlights inspired by the VR glasses placed on the front bumper, and a large windscreen providing a good sense of visibility and space. The rear of the car also features an LED light bar and a 12-inch 4-spoke rim cover for a cute and playful look. The separate rear windscreen behind the doors is also larger, providing more visual space for the rear passengers. The dimensions are 2,974mm x 1,505mm x 1,631mm and the wheelbase is 2,010mm, making it slightly larger than the Wuling Hongguang Mini.

The Wuling Wuling EV and Wuling Hongguang Hongguang Mini share the same single cabin design, with a length, width and height of 2,974mm x 1,505mm x 1,631mm and a wheelbase of 2,010mm, making it slightly larger than the Wuling Hongguang Hongguang Mini. Although no official information on the interior has been released so far, the Wuling EV is small enough to accommodate four adults, with air-conditioning, electric windows and an audio system as standard equipment, as well as safety features such as ABS, tire pressure monitoring and reversing radar. Power is provided by a single electric motor layout with a lithium-iron-phosphate battery that produces at least 40 hp and a top speed of 100km/h.

The Wuling Hongguang Mini has become one of the best-selling electric vehicles in the Chinese car market with its short body and affordable price, and it is believed that the Wuling EV will further develop its market performance when it enters the Indonesian market.
