Isuzu MU-X to be launched in ASEAN and Australia
Isuzu has recently unveiled the new non-rider chassis MU-X in Thailand, and it is scheduled to be launched in ASEAN and Australia on November 9th. The MU-X is a new derivative of the third-generation D-MAX SUV.
On the outside, the Isuzu MU-X has a more refined look than the van-oriented D-MAX, with sleeker, sharper LED headlamps and a more sporty water tank cover with silver paint accents on the grille.
The interior is identical to that of the D-MAX, however, with the stitching being enhanced. The new three-spoke leather steering wheel, 9-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, dual-zone climate control underneath the center console, LCD color display in the dashboard, and leatherette seats are also included. Other features include 8-way power-adjustable seats, Keyless, auto start/stop headlights, rear seat vents, USB slots, front and rear parking radars, and more. Officials also emphasize that the second and third rows of passengers will also have more foot space and better reclining seats, with new NVH insulation to enhance driving comfort.
In terms of power, the entry-level model is powered by the RZ4E 1.9L diesel engine with a 6-speed manual transmission, offering 150 PS / 3,500 rpm and 350 Nm / 1,800 – 2,600 rpm maximum output. The higher-end models are powered by the 4JJ3 3.0L diesel engine with 6-speed manual transmission and AWD system, offering 190 PS / 3,600 rpm and 450 Nm / 1,600 – 2,600 rpm. The D-MAX and MU-X are not available in the domestic market as they are for a right-hand drives only.
