How to apply for a New Zealand eTA
To apply for the NZeTA travellers must be:
- From a country eligible for the NZeTA
- Visiting New Zealand for tourism, business, or transit
- Visiting for up to 3 months (6 months for UK citizens)

Documents required to apply for the NZeTA
Applicants should have the following items to hand before getting started with the NZeTA form:
- Passport valid for at least 3 months beyond the end of the stay
- Recent photo that meets New Zealand visa photo requirements
- Credit or debit card to pay the eTA and IVL fees
The same passport must be used to apply for the NZeTA and travel to NEW ZEALAND VISA INFORMATION. An NZeTA becomes invalid as soon as the passport expires.
Additional documents to travel to New Zealand during COVID-19
Fully vaccinated visa waiver travellers with a valid NZeTA can now enter New Zealand. However, several requirements remain in place to go to New Zealand during COVID-19.
International visitors need the following health documents:
- Certificate of full vaccination
- New Zealand Traveller Declaration
These documents are needed in addition to the passport and eTA. Air passengers are issued 2 Rapid Antigen Tests to take on days 0/1 and 5/6 after arrival in New Zealand.
Travellers who do not meet the vaccination requirements cannot enter New Zealand unless they have an exemption. Unvaccinated passengers will need to enter Managed Isolation and Quarantine.NZeTA Application
