Speed Cubing Techniques
Speedcubing is a sport for mind and body. It involves solving combination puzzles, like the Rubik’s Cube or a 3x3x3 puzzle. The objective is to solve these puzzles in the shortest possible time. The sport is very popular among people who love puzzles.
CFOP method
The CFOP method is a simple but effective speed cubing system. The basic goal of the method is to solve the cube in the shortest time possible. There are various algorithms that are used to achieve this goal. These are listed on the CFOP algorithm page.
LBL method
The Layer-By-Layer method is one of the most popular speedcubing methods. It involves solving a cube in layers. Beginner cubers solve each layer one at a time, finishing the edges and corners of the first layer first, then solving the second and third layers. Intermediate and advanced cubers can solve two layers at once, using techniques such as the CFOP method.
Fridrich method
The Fridrich method for speed cubing is a common technique used by speedcubers. It is also known by many other names, such as the CFOP method. This method involves four steps and is the most widely used technique. There are other methods, though, that are better suited for different people.
CFOP for 3×3
CFOP is a simple method that saves time by solving the first two layers at once. You solve the red-blue edge piece and the white cross together, resulting in a “cross.” CFOP is a fast and intuitive way to solve 3×3 cubes. There are 41 algorithms in CFOP. You can print them out and use them to improve your solve times.
Gan cubes are the Apple of cubes
When it comes to speed cubing, Gan cubes are the apple of the pie. Their new 3×3 cube, the GAN 356 Air SM, is made to be softer than their predecessor, the GAN 356 Air UM. This model has a new GES+ lubrication system and uses a honeycomb design to retain lube while cubing. The price of the new cube is only $35.
